Gedcom Files

We accept your gedcom computer files. If you have a tie to Lycoming County, we are interested in your lineages. Most genealogy programs will generate a gedcom file and export it to a disk. We are now set up to put these files into our computer. We will also put a print out in our files. You may mail us your files on a 3 1/2 " IBM formatted disk or email them as an attached file to LycomingLineage@gmail.com. If your files are large, you may zip them and mail them to us. Please indicate in your email, the name(s) of the families involved. Contact us if you have any questions.

Procedure to Visit Our Library

The LCGS Library is located within the Lycoming County Historical Society

Procedure to visit our library:

HOW: Call AHEAD for an appointment. The Museum number is 570-326-3326. It is highly recommended that you phone ahead for an appointment. We work cooperatively with the museum, therefore we need to follow their rules. If there is not a genealogical volunteer available, you will not get in. The museum does not have personnel to staff the room. The room is small, we will take appointments before walk-ins. It may be too full and you will be turned away no matter if you are a member or not. Please follow the rules.

WHERE: Lycoming County Historical Museum, 858 West Fourth Street, Williamsport, PA (Take the Maynard St. exit off I 180. Turn toward Burger King. Go several blocks. You will run right into the museum. Park on the street or take driveway to the left of building to a small parking lot.)

WHEN: Library hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday: 12 - 4pm; Saturday: 11:30 - 3:30pm Except on LCGS meeting days (other days and hours by special arrangement)

WHAT: Go to the front desk and identify yourself as a member. Or pay $3.50 per person for non-Society members.

H
ave you sent in your genealogies to our library yet?
We welcome your family lineage and would like to have a copy of it on file in our Society library.
Please be sure to include your name and address with any material you send in.

Do you happen to have lists of school children, organizations of such that would place people somewhere in Lycoming County during the time between the 1880 and 1900 censuses? How about old family reunion clippings, marriage or birth announcements?

The LCGS is always looking for material to put into the Lycoming Lineage.
