Welcome to Lycoming County Genealogical Society.

The Lycoming County Genealogical Society, Inc. (LCGS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the encouragement of research, publication, collection and preservation of genealogical materials. Our members work hard toward the improvement of genealogical research and publication.

The LCGS Library is located within the Lycoming County Historical Society

Procedure to visit our library:

HOW: Call AHEAD for an appointment. The Museum number is 570-326-3326. It is highly recommended that you phone ahead for an appointment. We work cooperatively with the museum, therefore we need to follow their rules. If there is not a genealogical volunteer available, you will not get in. The museum does not have personnel to staff the room. The room is small, we will take appointments before walk-ins. It may be too full and you will be turned away no matter if you are a member or not. Please follow the rules.

WHERE: Lycoming County Historical Museum, 858 West Fourth Street, Williamsport, PA (Take the Maynard St. exit off I 180. Turn toward Burger King. Go several blocks. You will run right into the museum. Park on the street or take driveway to the left of building to a small parking lot.)

WHEN: Library hours are Tuesday - Friday: 12 - 4pm; Saturday: 11:30 - 3:30pm
Except on LCGS meeting days (other days and hours by special arrangement)

WHAT: Go to the front desk and identify yourself as a member. Or pay $3.50 per person for non-Society members.
